INCUBATING HOSPI CORPORATION TO EASE THE BURDEN OF END-OF-LIFE CARE

September 20, 2016

Triple Ring incubated company Hospi Corporation just launched their first patient and caregiver video.

The video demonstrates their flagship Macy Catheter, the only device on the market designed solely for ongoing rectal delivery of medications and fluids. The catheter allows clinicians and caregivers to comfortably administer medication repeatedly from a medication port secured to the leg or abdomen, maintaining patient privacy and without having to reposition the patient.

Hospi Corporation is building on their momentum from the results of a recent study in the Journal of Pain and Symptom Management demonstrating that use of their Macy Catheter device showed improved absorption of the sedative anticonvulsant phenobarbital, as compared to administration via suppository.

“We are committed to enhancing patient comfort while also decreasing the burden of end-of-life care and so we are creating educational tools to support the caregiver,” said Brad Macy, RN, BSN, CHPN, inventor of the Macy Catheter and Hospi Corporation’s President.

Hospi Corporation began incubating at Triple Ring in February 2014 while they were finalizing their first commercial production of the Macy Catheter and planning their “soft” launch.

“Incubating at Triple Ring has allowed us to remain focused on the patient and caregiver and growing our business rather than on back office operations. For example, while our roots and market entry are in end-of-life care, we have the management bandwidth to expand to the Emergency Department and other call points where rapid medication and fluid administration is a priority. It’s a win-win for everyone,” according to Igal Ladabaum, CEO of Hospi Corporation.
